ALP1_Assignment #4 _ photo story
Comfort food not so comforting.
My photo story is an editorial for a magazine like Urbania (http://urbania.ca/accueil)that does all kind of cool and humoristic editorials but with always a deeper meaning behind them and they have a different approach to photography for there editorials.
So I decided to tell a story in a different way then your typical "photojournalistic" style which is boring as hell to me. So I used object photography and portrait to tell my story and use a strong style and a careful thought up use of color and art direction, nothing was left to chance. The pastel is to accentuate the "I'm gonna be sick" feeling and the almost unrealistic illustrative feel, I didn't want my images to look like realistic snapshots. I wanted them to be like emotional events.I believe it's a fresh interesting way of telling a story.
The story is fairly simple, sometimes we crave certain "comfort food" but it's almost like they are made to make you feel bad after so you buy something else to make you feel good and it just keeps you consuming. Is it on purpose or is it just that comfort food is not so comforting in the end.
